About Peter Hoy

Having spent 18 years working in the funeral industry, people often ask me why I have stayed so long and why do I love my job so much. The answer is quite simple. You can celebrate many different milestones and achievements throughout a lifetime including birthdays, anniversaries, relationships, study, work. You can celebrate these moments time and time again over the course of your life. You can change so many aspects of your life, reinvent yourself time and time again; however, you only get one funeral.

 

So, I find it a great honour and privilege to be a part of something so unique, so personal, such a defining moment in a person and their family’s timeline. I enjoy helping families during one of the most difficult times in their life. I appreciate that not everybody has had exposure to arranging a funeral for a loved one so to be able to guide families in planning the best possible farewell is something I take great pride in. I love the ceremony of a funeral service, and I strive to give family and friends a bright, positive moment to look back on as they remember their loved ones.
