"Thank you Scott from the bottom of my heart for making a difficult time for the family a little easier to bear… You have been so compassionate and respectful of our needs… always available to answer any of my many queries. The service was beautifully conducted by you and flowed seamlessly.. personal touches like having the tenor sing was beautiful and added that something special.. very touching and made a huge impact on the whole service.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a viewing?

Viewing your love one is all part of death.  It allows you to come and see them for the last time.  They will be dressed and in their coffin.

Can I dress them?

Absolutely, our team will assist you to ensure they are dressed perfectly.  Being there is special and something that goes back hundreds of years where families would dress their loved one in something as basic a shroud, but nowadays, you can have them in whatever you or they wish for.

Can I do their Hair and Make Up?

Yes.  You can come and be part of the preparation.  You can bring your own make up or use ours.  Our team will assist to ensure that colours, and any tips need to be shared.

Can we bring them home to dress and prepare?

For some cultures this is normal.  So we will do this providing it meets the NSW Health Code.  This normally is 5 days from death, but can happen if embalming takes place.

Do you embalm everyone?

No.  We only embalm if it is required.  This is mainly for repatriation, above ground vaults or if time is required until the funeral.  For viewings, we often do a Temporary Preservation, which is where minimal embalming takes place for the face and hands.  Otherwise we like to least disturb them, and just do a basic preparation, which is wash hair, body, and then dress, hair and make up if required.  Our female team is dedicated to females, and our males to males, where possible of course.

How long do we have?

Typically it is about an hour, but depends on you and how your feeling.  For some it is a quick goodbye, and for others it is saying prayers, chanting, and really being with them for as long as they can.
